What are Brake Calipers?

Brakes are vital, full stop. And calipers are a critical part of any car that uses disc brakes. Think of a caliper as a brake pad’s big brother. When you depress the brake pedal, fluid flows from the master brake cylinder to the brake caliper. That’s to create extra pressure for the braking, because sorry hotshot, even after leg day your muscles aren’t strong enough to stop your car.  That brake fluid helps the caliper apply pressure to the brake pad, which clamps around the rotor, slowing down the wheels in the process. And just like that, your car slows down. 

Symptoms of failing Brake Calipers
