How does RepairSmith work?
Give us your location, your vehicle info, and your symptoms and we'll set you up with one of our trusted shops to get your service done. Best of all, we'll be by your side every step of the way to answer any questions.
Choosing a repair shop
What if there is no repair shop in my area?
RepairSmith is currently available in the Los Angeles metro area. If you're within city limits and try to book an appointment but don't see any shops, we can still help. Just contact our customer care team who can concierge a match with a reputable shop near you.
How are appointments set with a selected repair shop?
After you choose the repair shop you want, we give you the power to choose the date and time you want to take your car in for service. On the rare occasion when a shop is unable to attend to your car, we will let you know in advance, then match you with a replacement shop.

How do you select your repair shops?
At RepairSmith, we hold our repair shops to the highest standards. We only accept shops into our network that meet our specific criteria and who we can guarantee will provide the level of service our customers deserve. This includes a track record of high customer service standards, an established history of good standing with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair, and a minimum 1-year, 12,000 mile warranty. If you ever feel that your experience did not meet expectations, please contact our customer care team. We mean it! We want to make sure our high standards are upheld.
How can I get an estimate?
Our fair price tool provides you with the price you can expect to pay for individual repairs. It's not a formal estimate of the full scope of work, but rather a guideline based on aggregated price data history. The formal estimate (which requires your approval to proceed) will be provided by the repair shop at the time of diganosis. A mechanic can't be 100% sure of the complete issue (or issues) until the hood is popped. If a different set of repairs are identified, you'll get a new price quote. Your approval for any additional work is required prior to the shop conducting the work. If you ever have questions on a shop estimate, do not hesitate to contact our customer care team.
Is it more expensive than going to shops and dealers?
At RepairSmith, we strive to provide our customers with excellent automobile repair service at a fair price. We can't guarantee you won't find a lower price offered elsewhere (often due to use of cheaper, substandard parts). But we can promise that you are getting a fair price and quality repairs on any work performed by a certified RepairSmith repair shop.
How does the RepairSmith diagnosis feature work?
RepairSmith's diagnosis feature helps you identify the possible repairs your car needs. Just answer a few simple questions and we'll come up with a list of possible problems. We use real industry data tailored to your vehicle and symptoms, but a repair shop may need to perform a full on-site diagnosis to determine exactly what the issue is. We at RepairSmith are committed to making sure you go to a shop armed with all the information you need.
When will I pay for the repair?
You will pay your repair shop directly at the completion of the repair. Be sure to send RepairSmith a picture of your invoice to activate your 12-month | 12,000-mile warranty.
Booking & cancellation
How can I contact the repair shop?
After you book your appointment, we provide the repair shop with your contact information. They will reach out to confirm details of your service. Once you two have made contact, feel free to contact them at any time. If you have trouble reaching the shop, our customer care team is happy to assist.
What is the cancellation policy?
We know that schedules change. If you're unable to make your booking, please contact our customer success team who can assist in cancelling or rescheduling. Letting us know in advance means we can pass that info on to the repair shop and keep everybody happy!
