How Do I Perform A Tie Rod Replacement?

Park the car on a level surface, keeping enough room to work around the vehicle.
Engage the parking brake and place blocks behind the rear wheels.
To access the tie rod assembly, lift the front end with jack stands, loosen the wheel or lug nuts (lock nut), and remove the wheels.
Loosen the inner and outer tie rod nut, as well as remove the castle nut and cotter pin using pliers.
Detach the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle (steering arm) with a wedge or hammer, and unscrew the outer tie rod end.
Next, remove the inner and outer tie rod nut as well as the inner tie rod end dust boot clamps. Also, detach the breather tube from the dust boot.
Use an inner tie rod removal tool to remove the inner tie rod end.
Install the new tie rod, ensuring that it matches the old tie rod by adapting its length if needed.
Tighten the connecting nut between the inner and outer tie rods and castle nut using a torque wrench. Reinstall all other nuts and pins removed during the process.
